ONE

It was written in 1988 and released in January 1989 by Metallica, specifically by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. It’s an anti-war song that explains the live of a soldier injured critically after World War I. His arms and legs blown up by a landmine, blind and unable to speak or move. He prays God to take his life. His only hope is to devise a way to communicate with the hospital staff because remember that he can’t move, he can’t see, he can’t speak and he can’t listen anything. In the music video, he jolts in the hospital bed, spelling ‘’Kill me’’ in Morse code. In the first 17 seconds of the song, we can hear some war sound effects like gun shots and a helicopter that disappears to introduce a guitar solo. While the song is progressing, the guitar sound is going faster. This sound, together with the battery sound, remembers to a machine gun. I have chosen this song because the Geography teacher showed us this song and he also gave us a worksheet with the spanish lyrics of the song so, it was easier to understand the song to do this composition.
