The other face of the war.

In our times everything revolves around new technologies, health, solidarity in many terms, etc. However, We can still find scenes like the one shown in this photo where the child must be scared by the war and the soldier shows his human part, offering his smile and protection taking care of him.

 

Behind the soldier and the boy, sitting on a half-destroyed staircase, an old wooden door can be seen. It could be the house where the child lived. The soldier may have sat there to rest for a while with his weapon resting on the ground next to him. The child must be six years old, and the soldier is a young man. They look happy in this photo.

 

When I look at the photo, I feel sadness and joy at the same time. Sadness to see that wars and injustices continue ... and joy to see that even in hard times, people can help and make others smile.
